Александр Васильев(солист группы "Сплин") говорит о смысле песни: "Эта песня посвящена той девочке, которая по легенде пережила бомбардировку Хиросимы и Нагасаки, в результате получила лучевую болезнь и стала умирать от нее. И врачи сказали ей, что если она сложит тысячу бумажных журавликов, то выживет . И весь припев посвящён тому, чтобы придать ей сил и чтобы она продолжила жить. Однако, Васильев с ошибками пересказывает историю знаменитой девочки. Садако Сасаки действительно пережила бомбардировку,но умерла только через 10 лет от лейкемии . А "тысяча журавликов"-это не плод воображения врачей, а древняя японская легенда,но Садако не успела сложить их до смерти. По всему тексту прослеживается японская тематика , с указанием на вещи,которые ассоциируются у людей с Японией,например "Летит самолет над водой и над рисовым полем".
